We want you to thrive

Betterment by your definition…

According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, once our basic needs of water, warmth, food and safety are fulfilled, we shift our focus to getting our psychological and self-fulfillment needs met.

Indeed, people in our generation struggle less with getting a roof over our heads but more with finding ourselves and living meaningfully. For example, you might be having a job that is not aligned to who you want to be, you are in undesirable relationships with yourself and others, or you are trucking through life monotonously feeling like something is missing. At As You, we are committed to helping you change that. We use our coaching skills to help you better understand yourself, reflect on what is happening, figure out what you really want and how to get there.

Change is not easy so find a partner in us. We all get stuck every now and then. Sometimes we are stuck in the same place for a long time, repeating the same behaviours wishing there is a different result this time. We all know that annoying feeling of knowing we need to change but don’t have the motivation or don’t know how to change. That is where we at As You can partner with you to clearly define what you want, identify the obstacles and design actions while we hold you accountable to what you have said you will do. So, let’s work on this together, actively cultivating a life that is worth living for by your definition.

OUR COACH - SUKI XIAO

Suki founded As You because she believes helping people live more meaningfully will bring about positive changes to the world.

Her passion started young when she was a voluntary counsellor at Youthline, a New Zealand phone counselling service for young people. Suki also had four years facilitating and coaching teams and individuals to gel and achieve greatness as an Agile Team Coach, working in companies such as Xero and Datacom. She has mentored multiple women in the tech industry and coached company leaders to become better coaches. This experience has helped Suki gain a deep understanding about people on a practical level, about their motivation and behavioural patterns.

Since gaining her certification in professional coaching with the International Coach Federation, Suki has successfully guided people on a range of topics such as purpose finding, self-confidence and self-esteem. She enjoys the process of coaching, seeing her coachees’ eyes light up when they get their “aha” moments. Suki is also particularly proud when her coachees have built sustainable practices that they start to self-coach and coach others around them.

Other facts about Suki:

  • Suki has a conjoint degree of Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws but has always had a keen interest in personal development and helping others. This has led her to gain practical experience and qualifications, and recently start As You.

  • Suki was born in China and immigrated to New Zealand when she was 12. She calls New Zealand home and is comfortable with her bi-cultural identity.

  • Suki loves to learn about people and write about life (yes, a lot of talking to people from different backgrounds, listening to podcasts, reading books and learning to write). She is a regular on ski fields, meditation halls and food stores.
